It comes with a transmitted (bottom light) and reflected LED illumination system and a backward nosepiece that allocates spacious operating room for users. Offering five magnifications, 40X, 100X, 250X, 400X, 1000X, the microscope has optical glass lenses, sturdy metal framework, 360 degree rotatable monocular head and dual side focusing. Powered by either an outlet (adapter included) or two AA batteries (included), the dual LED light sources (top & bottom) allow for both the viewing of large or opaque objects lit from above and the viewing of thinly sliced or translucent specimens lit from below. The digital camera captures still images and video, and allows you to view a live stream on your PC. The downloadable software for Windows offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended-depth-of-focus. Independent preview and capture resolutions allow you to view high-speed video while capturing high-definition images. On Mac computers, a lite version of the software is available with a more limited selection of measurement tools. The shipping package comes with five prepared slides and five blank ones.
